CM Omar Abdullah inaugurates Rs.30.35 crore sports complex at Gindun
SRINAGAR, Oct. 7 -- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday inaugurated sports infrastructure worth Rs.30.35 crore at the Sher-i-Kashmir Multi Sports Activity Centre (SKMSAC), Gindun Rajbagh, including Kashmir's first Olympic-sized swimming pool and a modern gymnastics hall.
The newly commissioned facilities comprise a 50-metre by 25-metre, 10-lane Olympic-sized swimming pool, an all-weather heated training and toddler swimming pool, and an indoor gymnastics hall equipped with modern training equipment.
Officials said the infrastructure has been developed to strengthen swimming and gymnastics training facilities in the Valley and expand opportunities for young athletes.
