SRINAGAR, Sept. 19 -- Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Saturday called for a review and rationalisation of Jammu and Kashmir's reservation policy, saying the existing system was "not judicious" and should be based on population ratio.
Bukhari made the remarks while speaking to reporters after inaugurating an exhibition in Srinagar featuring handicrafts, jewellery and other products displayed by young entrepreneurs from Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country.
Responding to a question on the reservation policy, Bukhari said the existing framework required review to ensure what he described as fair and equitable representation of different sections of society.
