Srinagar, Feb. 28 -- The Jammu & Kashmir Government has amended the Unified Building Bye-Laws, 2021 (UBBL-2021), introducing a fully digital system for building permissions in the Union Territory.

Key changes have been made to the UBBL-2021 by the Housing & Urban Development Department under powers vested in it by the Jammu & Kashmir Municipal Corporation Act, the Jammu & Kashmir Municipal Act, and the Jammu & Kashmir Development Act.

In the wake of amendments, all building permission requests must be submitted online through the Housing & Urban Development Department's portal, along with computer-aided design-based building plans and other requisite documents, through an empanelled Registered Technical Person (RTP).
