Srinagar, April 30 -- The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has welcomed the launch of the direct Vande Bharat Express between Jammu and Srinagar, calling it a major step forward in strengthening connectivity across the Union Territory.
Party spokesperson Danish Bhat described the development as a long-awaited milestone, noting that passengers earlier had to change trains at Katra due to segmented rail services. The new direct service, he said, now ensures seamless travel between the two regions.
