SRINAGAR, Sept. 25 -- Police have arrested a man and seized the vehicle allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident in Sopore that left one person dead and another injured, officials said on Thursday.

According to police, the accident took place at Chak Rody Khan in Sopore when a motorcycle (JK09E-3415) carrying two persons was hit by an unidentified vehicle, whose driver allegedly fled the scene.

The injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital Sopore for treatment. Police registered an FIR under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation.

Officials said investigators examined CCTV footage from the area and adjoining routes and used technical inputs to identify the vehicle and its driver....
