Amrita Gupta wins J&K Women's Chess Championship
JAMMU, Sept. 13 -- Amrita Gupta emerged champion at the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Women's Chess Championship 2026, securing the title in the tournament held at Nek Hotel near Gumat, Jammu.
Sonali Manhas finished second, while Tejaswini Singh and Vannah Gupta secured the third and fourth positions respectively.
With their performances, the top four players have qualified to represent Jammu and Kashmir at the forthcoming National Women's Chess Championship in Telangana.
The championship was organised by the All Jammu and Kashmir Chess Association (AJKCA) under the aegis of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
