Srinagar, April 27 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday presented a chargesheet against a former public servant in a bribery case registered in 2022.
The chargesheet was filed in FIR No. 07/2022 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 at Police Station ACB Srinagar, against accused Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh, then Computer Operator in PWD (R&B) Circle Ganderbal, before the court of the Additional Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Court Srinagar.
According to officials, the case was registered on March 2, 2022, following a written complaint alleging that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs.4,000 for issuance of a D-Class contractor card. Acting on the complaint, ACB laid a trap during which the accuse...
