SRINAGAR, May 8 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau Jammu and Kashmir has registered a disproportionate assets case against Zafar Iqbal, a KAS officer presently posted in the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, J&K, Srinagar.

According to the ACB, the case was registered following a secret verification into allegations that the officer had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Officials said the verification revealed that during his postings at various places, the accused allegedly abused his official position and acquired assets worth crores of rupees in his own name as well as in the names of family members and relatives.
