Srinagar, April 30 -- Police in Kulgam arrested five drug peddlers with contraband substances, a police spokesperson informed Wednesday.
He said heroin weighing 20 grams, was recovered from Waseem Ahmad Bhat of Nishat, Srinagar, when he was arrested in Kulgam district.
One Ubaid Rashid Dar of Waghama Bijebhara was arrested after 26 grams of heroin-like contraband substance was recovered from him at Barazulla crossing near Sangran Bridge.
Shameem Ahmad Kalas of Raiwattan was arrested and cannabis powder-like contraband weighing 580 grams recovered from his auto-loadcarrier (JK18C-7314) at Asnoor.
36 grams of cannabis and another 136 grams of powdered cannabis was recovered from Zahid Ahmad Wani of Malwan, who was also arrested.
