100 IPS, JKPS officers transferred in major police reshuffle
Srinagar, Oct. 10 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has ordered the transfer and posting of 100 Indian Police Service (IPS) and Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) officers, reshuffling police leadership across Kashmir and Jammu divisions, including several district-level and specialised assignments.
Government Order No. 499-Home of 2026, dated October 9, was issued with immediate effect. The changes cover senior superintendents of police (SSPs), deputy inspectors general (DIGs), additional SPs, commandants and officers serving in the Crime Investigation Department (CID), traffic police, security wings, railway police and armed police battalions.
