TOKYO, April 6 -- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan issued the following news release:

On April 6, commencing at 4:45 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a telephone call with H.E. Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Islamic State of Pakistan.

Minister MOTEGI expressed his grave concern over the current deterioration of the situation in the Middle East and paid tribute to the mediation efforts Pakistan is making with relevant countries.
