TOKYO, April 8 -- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan issued the following news release:
On April 8, commencing at 4:45 p.m. for approximately 10 minutes, Foreign Minister MOTEGI Toshimitsu received a courtesy call from Dr. OKI Taikan, newly appointed as the Science and Technology Advisor to the Minister for Foreign Affairs on April 1. The overview of the meeting is as follows.
At the outset, Minister MOTEGI mentioned that science and technology are becoming increasingly important in the international community, and he requested advice on how to effectively promote science and technology diplomacy.
In response, Advisor OKI replied that he would like to actively engage in activities based on his own experience.
