Mumbai, Aug. 3 -- Tata Power emerged as the successful bidder in the tariff-based competitive process, with the project slated for completion in 30 months.
REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of power sector financier REC Ltd, handed over Ryapte Power Transmission Ltd, the project-specific special purpose vehicle (SPV), to Tata Power Co. Ltd on July 30.
Tata Power emerged as the successful bidder through the tariff-based competitive bidding process conducted by RECPDCL, which acted as the bid process coordinator. The project involves the development of the intrastate transmission scheme in Karnataka, titled 'Evacuation Scheme for 2,000 MW solar park at Ryapte Village, Tumkur District,' on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.
The transmission project includes a 400/220 kV substation at Ryapte in Tumkur District and a 400/220 kV GIS substation at Doddathaggalli near Hosakote. It also comprises a 400 kV double-circuit line of approximately 207 km from Doddathaggalli to Ryapte and Kolar, and a 220 kV double-circuit line of around 57 km from Doddathaggalli to Ekarajapura, Hosakote and Sarjapura, along with associated works.
The project is scheduled to be implemented within 30 months at an estimated cost of Rs.32 billion.
