Lesotho, Sept. 23 -- Lesotho has been challenged to harness the power of sport to strengthen tourism by creating a year-round sporting calendar, developing tourism packages around competitions and positioning Lesotho as a sporting hub within the SADC region.

The call was made during the First Annual Tourism Pitso 2026, held from September 16-17 at Manthabiseng Convention Centre, Maseru. The gathering was hosted by the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture under the theme, "Unlocking tourism investment and sustainable growth for inclusive economic development."
