Lesotho, March 4 -- Lijabatho FC has suspended its captain, Mohlomi Makhetha, after he received consecutive red cards in recent matches.

Club Public Relations Officer, Tankiso Moletsane, said the decision was taken to protect the team's discipline and fairness. He explained that Makhetha's dismissal left the team with only nine players on the field, giving their opponents a chance to equalise in the final minutes of the game.

"We had to act. Discipline is important in football. When a player is sent off, the whole team suffers," said Moletsane.

He added that the team has enough depth and talent to fill the gap left by the captain. According to him, this is an opportunity for other players to step up and prove themselves.
