Lesotho, March 25 -- The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), working with partners including the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme, has presented a new strategy aimed at improving voter registration and making elections more inclusive in Lesotho.
The plan was discussed during a validation meeting for the Inclusive Lesotho Project, which focuses on strengthening transparency and ensuring that more Basotho are able to register and vote.
Opening the meeting, IEC Chairman John Maphephe said the strategy marks an important step in improving the country's electoral system.
"This document provides a roadmap to modernize, secure and make voter registration more inclusive and sustainable," he said.
