Basotho Mark 60 Years of Independence
Lesotho, Oct. 7 -- Thousands of Basotho gathered at Setsoto Stadium on Sunday to celebrate Lesotho's 60th Independence Anniversary, filling the stadium with national colours, traditional blankets, flags and celebrations as the country marked six decades of independence.
The Diamond Jubilee celebration, held on October 4, united Basotho from different parts of the country, government officials, international guests and members of the diplomatic community to commemorate Lesotho's independence gained from Britain on October 4, 1966, becoming an independent constitutional monarchy.
