The Aarogya Setu application was developed by the Government of India during the COVID-19 pandemic as a national digital public good for contact tracing, risk awareness, and citizen engagement. Following the completion of its role as a pandemic response tool, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology formally handed over the application to the National Health Authority for repurposing and long-term use within India's digital health ecosystem.
