In a press conference after interacting with coconut farmers and stakeholders at the IIT Madras campus in Chennai today, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development , Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan clarified that the ' Coconut Promotion Scheme ' announced in Budget 2026-27 will not be formulated merely from offices in Delhi , but will be formulated on the basis of suggestions from farmers working in the fields from Tamil Nadu to Assam .
