India, March 10 -- The Government of India has issued a release:

 The Department of Fisheries, Government of India, through its schemes, policies and programmes has taken several initiatives for the holistic development of the fisheries sector, including strengthening the livelihoods of traditional fisherfolk. Under the flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) implemented by the Department, during the last five years and the current year fisheries developmental projects amounting to Rs.1,418.51 crore has been approved to Kerala.
