India, Sept. 21 -- The Government of India has issued a release:

Union Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered the immediate suspension of Anurag, a Marketing Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture, following a complaint alleging that he sought bribes from two warehouses in Madhya Pradesh's Sehore district.

According to the complaint, the officer allegedly demanded money during an inspection in Sehore district in exchange for releasing subsidy amounts. A demand of Rs.1 lakh was allegedly made from Shivay Warehouse in Bhairunda tehsil, while Rs.60,000 was allegedly sought from Shri Krishna Warehouse in Beherakhedi village in the Rehti area.
