Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today expressed deep sadness over the passing of Thiru Vummidi Ethiraj Ji, who will always be remembered for his efforts in crafting the historic Sengol that was presented to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
Recalling the honour of meeting him in 2023 when the government gave the Sengol a place of pride in the new Parliament building, Shri Modi stated that his life and craftsmanship represent a remarkable connection between India's glorious traditions and the national journey, and extended his heartfelt condolences to his family and admirers.
