India, July 30 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
'Urban planning' is a State subject, therefore, the respective State Governments are responsible for planning, initiating and developing proposal for development of urban infrastructure including public transport project, measures to reduce congestion, improve urban mobility through digital technologies etc. in different cities.
Central Government has issued various policy guidelines like National Urban Transport Policy 2006 and The Metro Policy 2017 for systematic planning and execution of Public Transport project including metro project, which are applicable to all regions of India.
As on date, per se there is no National Smart Public Transport Scheme for integrated public...
