In a major step towards safer and smoother movement of road traffic in Gujarat, Indian Railways has approved the construction of a 4 lane Road Over Bridge at Level Crossing No. 305 on the Geratpur-Ahmedabad section of Western Railway. The work has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs.153 crore.
The project has been sanctioned under Western Railway's ongoing umbrella work for construction of road over and under bridges, foot over bridges, drainage improvement and rebuilding of road over and under bridges.
The crossing lies in a densely populated urban area, which calls for longer approaches and a larger structure. The railway bridge portion will have a total length of 106 metres. ...
