The Central Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the complete eradication of manual scavenging and the rehabilitation of identified manual scavengers through sustained financial assistance, skill development and livelihood support under the National Action for Mechanised Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE) Scheme.
