The National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 emphasizes access, equity, affordability and inclusion in higher education. The Government is committed to ensuring equitable access to quality higher education for all students, particularly those belonging to economically weaker families.
The Government is implementing various scholarship schemes for providing financial assistance to eligible students for pursuing higher education, as per scheme guidelines. The Post-Matric scholarship schemes for SC, ST and OBC are Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented by States and UTs and administered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
