India, Oct. 6 -- The Government of India has issued a release:
Continuing its sustained crackdown on organised gold smuggling, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized around 8.3 kg foreign-origin gold valued at approximately Rs. 12.37 crore in intelligence-led operation in an operation along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Four persons have been arrested in connection with the smuggling activities.
In a significant intelligence led operation DRI officers mounted surveillance along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Cooch Behar District and on 05.10.2026 intercepted four individuals travelling on two motorcycles along the route from the Indo-Bangladesh border at Chowdhurihat to Cooch Behar.
