India, Feb. 17 -- South Asian University, New Delhi recently hosted the ISA RC 22 Mid-Term conference on "Global Flows and Reconfigurations of the Sacred," the first of its kind to be organised in India. This international conference was a collaboration between the International Sociological Association's Research Committee on Sociology of Religion (RC 22) and the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, South Asian University. The conference which took place from the 5th - 7th of February 2026 saw delegates from 25 different nations from across 5 continents come together to delve into the theme of the sacred, and on the various ways contemporary societies engage with spiritual and religious exchanges.
