India, May 12 -- The Research Association of the Department of Urdu, Aligarh Muslim University, organized a literary programme featuring presentations by research scholars on contemporary Urdu literature and criticism.
The programme was presided over by Chairman, Department of Urdu, Prof Quamrul Hooda Faridi.
Research scholar Nikhat presented a paper on the fictional world of noted writer Tarannum Riyaz and discussed the portrayal of women's issues and feminine psychology in her fiction. She also analysed some of Tarannum Riyaz's well-known short stories, including Ababileen Laut Aayengee, Ye Tang Zameen and Rakht-e-Safar.
Another research scholar, Wasim Ahmed, presented a paper titled "Shab Khun: Imtiaz-o-Ikhtisaas."
