Community Medicine Department Conducts Awareness Drive on Child Marriage Prevention:"If a tradition violates children's rights, it is essential to change both the tradition and our mindset."

Aligarh, Feb. 28 -- charge Medical Officer. Nearly 40 community members participated in the sensitization session, which aimed to raise awareness about the serious social, legal, and health consequences of child marriage and to encourage collective responsibility in preventing the practice.

Dr.Yuvrajsinh (JR2) briefed participants on the legal age of marriage, key provisions of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, and the relevance of the POCSO Act, 2012. He also shared information about Child Helpline 1098 and urged parents to promote girls' education, ensure birth registration, and support Gram Panchayat efforts to prevent child marriage.
