Born in 1942 in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, Prof. Ahmad joined the Institute of Ophthalmology in 1972-73 as Assistant Professor. Over the decades, he earned wide respect for his professional excellence, administrative competence and commitment to academic standards. He retired on July 31, 2007.
Prof. Ahmad also served as Director of the Institute of Ophthalmology from December 12, 1991 to July 15, 1992. In 1992, he was elected President of the Aligarh Muslim University Teachers' Association (AMUTA), and during his long association with the University, he held several important administrative responsibilities, including Proctor, Provost in various Halls of Residence, and Member In-Charge (MIC) P...
