India, Aug. 31 -- Food delivery platform Zomato is planning to shut down its customer support operations in Hyderabad, a move that will impact around 250 employees, media reports said.

People familiar with the matter told The Economic Times that the employees will be laid off as part of the restructuring.

The move comes after Zomato changed its customer support model over the past six months, with a larger share of the work being outsourced to specialised external partners, according to the report.

Sources told NDTV Profit that the restructuring is being undertaken following a recent review of Zomato's Customer Delight operating model and organisational requirements.
