Bengaluru/IBNS, Aug. 27 -- Kannada superstar Yash's Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has overcome negative reviews to register a strong opening at the box office.

Released on August 26, the film collected a net Rs 101.10 crore across India on its opening day, Sacnilk reported.

The film recorded an overall occupancy of 56.1% across 24,579 shows, according to the report.

The opening has given Toxic a strong start despite the mixed critical response surrounding the film.

While Yash's fans lauded the film as the cinema halls were packed, a huge section of the audience lashed out at the movie plot calling the storyline weak.
