India, June 27 -- The Bank of Maharashtra has dismissed recent media reports claiming that pre-2005 Rs.10, Rs.20, Rs.50 and Rs.100 currency notes will not be accepted at its branches, terming the claims as "false information."
The clarification comes after reports sparked public concern over what was being described as a possible "silent demonetisation."
In a post on Facebook, the bank said: "A false message is being circulated claiming that pre-2005 Rs.10, Rs.20, Rs.50, and Rs.100 notes will not be accepted at Bank of Maharashtra branches after 30th June, 2026."
