India, Sept. 30 -- The Indian Army on Wednesday confirmed that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Mohammad Asif, alias 'Hashim Moosa', was killed during an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district.

He was wanted for his alleged involvement in attacks on both sides of the Pir Panjal range over several years, officials told Hindustan Times.

Army said he was killed as part of Operation Korag, a joint anti-militancy operation conducted by the Indian Army's Chinar Corps, J&K Police, and CRPF, conducted near Yousmarg in the Budgam on Tuesday.

As per the Army's X post, the security personnel challenged the suspected terrorists after noticing their movement.
