India, Feb. 24 -- American authorities on Monday said they have recovered the body of Sikh man named Avtar Singh near Lake Berryessa in the USA.

Singh was reportedly abducted last week from the Tracy region.

In a statement, the San Joaquin Sheriff's Office said: "On 2/17/26 at approximately 8:52 PM, patrol deputies responded to the 16000 block of W. Grant Line Road in Tracy for a reported missing person. During the investigation, surveillance footage showed a white SUV and three unidentified individuals dressed in dark clothing with the victim at approximately 2:30 PM. The victim appeared to enter the vehicle against his will."
