Darjeeling, July 14 -- West Bengal Legislative Assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose paid tribute to mountaineering legend Tenzing Norgay during his visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), one of Asia's premier adventure training institutes, in Darjeeling.

Bose offered a traditional Khada and floral tribute at Tenzing Norgay's Samadhi, honouring the enduring legacy of one of the greatest icons in the history of mountaineering.

The Speaker was welcomed by HMI Principal Col Rajneesh Joshi and other officials of the institute. He was briefed on HMI's rich legacy, its pioneering role in mountaineering education, and its contribution to promoting adventure sports and Himalayan exploration in India.
