India, April 24 -- The doors of the Kedarnath Temple were opened to devotees on April 22, marking the official start of the Char Dham Yatra 2026 in Uttarakhand, according to media reports.
The shrine, nestled in the scenic Himalayas, witnessed an overwhelming rush of pilgrims on the very first day, despite limited helicopter access to the area.
However, the heavy footfall also led to moments of chaos and disorder, with several videos from the temple premises going viral on social media.
In one such video, devotees were seen climbing over barricades in an attempt to break the queue and move ahead, causing disruption in the crowd management system.
