Chennai/IBNS, May 13 -- Actor-turned-politician Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has won the floor test in the Tamil Nadu Assembly with the support of 144 MLAs, including a faction of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), media reports said.

The remaining AIADMK legislators abstained from voting, while the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) walked out of the Assembly during the proceedings.

22 MLAs voted against the government while five sat on the fence.

The majority mark in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly is 118.

The AIADMK faction that voted in favour of Vijay on Tuesday extended support to the coalition government led by C Joseph Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, media reports said.
