India, June 13 -- An American woman has gone viral after calling the US healthcare system a "scam", claiming she was charged nearly $1,000 for a medication that cost just $25 when sourced from India.
In a video posted on Instagram, the woman said her insurance provider refused to cover an essential prescription, leaving her with an unaffordable out-of-pocket expense. She added that she later managed to obtain the same drug directly from an Indian manufacturer at a fraction of the price.
