US strikes Iranian radar, drone control sites in explosive weekend operation
India, June 1 -- The United States on Sunday said it conducted self-defence strikes on Iranian radar installations and command-and-control sites used for drones in Goruk and on Qeshm Island, Iran, over the weekend.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the strikes were carried out in response to what it described as "aggressive Iranian actions," including the downing of a US MQ-1 drone operating over international waters.
In its statement, CENTCOM said: "The measured and deliberate strikes occurred on Saturday and Sunday in response to aggressive Iranian actions that included the shootdown of a U.S. MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters."
CENTCOM confirmed that no US service members were harmed in the incident ...
