India, Sept. 22 -- A mysterious light was caught on camera moving across the skies above Tehran, sparking an online debate over whether it was a UFO or a military device.

Videos shared on social media showed a brightly lit object slowly hovering over the Iranian capital. Iranian authorities have not publicly identified the object so far.

Interestingly, the latest UFO-related episode over Tehran comes almost 50 years after a documented aerial incident in the city on September 19, 1976.

Officials have not disclosed where the latest object was spotted, although some social media users claimed it was seen near the Azadegan Expressway in Tehran.

The video emerged amid heightened tensions involving Iran, the US and Israel.
