Udhayanidhi Stalin's 'Trisha' remark on TVK chief Vijay sparks massive political row
India, Aug. 3 -- Tamil Nadu Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin has landed in a fresh controversy after making a remark in response to chants of "Trisha" during a public meeting, triggering outrage from the ruling TVK and the BJP.
Stalin was delivering a speech on the Cauvery issue and criticising Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay when members of the audience began chanting "Trisha, Trisha".
The video of the exchange quickly went viral, prompting sharp political reactions.
TVK calls remark 'disgusting'
TVK MLA Rhevanth Charan condemned Stalin's comment, calling it "absolutely disgusting" and accusing him of lowering the standards of political discourse.
