India, Aug. 18 -- Ridesharing major Uber on Tuesday announced the launch of Train Ticket Booking on its app in partnership with ixigo, India's leading AI-native travel platform.

The new offering will allow riders to book train tickets, check PNR status and seamlessly plan their first- and last-mile journeys with Uber, all within a single app.

The launch comes as Uber continues to expand its intercity travel offerings in India. Through the new train ticketing service, the company is leveraging ixigo's train booking technology and post-booking services to make it easier for riders to plan and manage different stages of their journey through a single platform.
