Washington, Aug. 22 -- U.S. President Donald Trump said trade negotiations with Canada are "moving along" as American and Canadian officials race to reach an agreement before a new deadline for steep U.S. tariffs on Canadian imports.

According to Reuters, Canadian and U.S. trade teams were engaged in talks on Friday as they sought to finalise a deal before the tariff deadline.

Canadian Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer have indicated that significant progress has been made, although key differences remain.

Trump said the talks were progressing and suggested that an agreement could be reached, while Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has also said the two sides were moving toward an agreement. ...
