New Delhi/IBNS, June 22 -- A fresh confrontation has emerged within the Trinamool Congress (TMC), with a group of rebel MPs reportedly preparing legal action against party colleague Mahua Moitra over her allegations that parliamentarians who left the party were paid large sums of money to switch sides.

According to sources, 20 rebel TMC MPs have decided to file a defamation suit against Moitra after she claimed that lawmakers who broke away from the party had been offered substantial financial incentives.

Sources said that the MPs recently held a meeting during which they agreed to initiate legal proceedings against Moitra.
