Mumbai/IBNS, Aug. 13 -- Shares of commercial vehicle major Tata Motors climbed nearly 6 per cent on the BSE on Thursday following a sharp rise in the company's net profit during the first quarter of FY27, media reports said.

The stock surged to a day's high of Rs.485 per share on the BSE after the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs.2,560 crore for Q1 FY27.

Tata Motors reported a consolidated net profit of Rs.2,560 crore, marking an 83.3 per cent year-on-year increase from Rs.1,397 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

The company's revenue from operations stood at around Rs.19,329 crore, registering a 23.3 per cent year-on-year increase.
