Kolkata/IBNS, Sept. 28 -- Several people were allegedly injured after a clash broke out between students of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) and members of right-wing group Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat (ABGP) over an event at the institute's main auditorium on Sunday, media reports said.

Students reportedly objected to the programme, questioning why such an event was held at the institute.

The confrontation later escalated into a clash, with students alleging that they were assaulted by ABGP members.

NDTV reported that several students and professors were injured in the incident.
