Salem, Sept. 4 -- Sona College of Technology welcomed 2,400 students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at its 30th Freshers Day, held at the Sona Institutions campus here last weekend. Significantly, women accounted for 42 per cent of the undergraduate cohort.

The event was followed by induction sessions introducing freshers to the institution's key learning, research and assessment processes, as well as opportunities in hackathons, internships, mentoring, entrepreneurship and innovation. The 'Know Your Campus' programme helped students break the ice as they interacted with faculty and peers and became familiar with the academic and co-curricular ecosystem.
