Sona College of Technology Fashion Technology students win Ministry of Textiles' Design Innovation Hackathon
New Delhi, July 20 -- Three BTech Fashion Technology students from Sona College of Technology, Salem-Nandheeswar M., G. Saran and Sushmitha K. S.-won First Prize at Sanrachna, the Product Development and Design Innovation Hackathon organised by the Ministry of Textiles during BharatTex 2026 in New Delhi from July 14 to 17, 2026.
The team developed a specially designed sports T-shirt that significantly reduces the force transmitted to the body from high-speed ball strikes by incorporating a protective layer.
The innovation is intended for athletes playing cricket, hockey, football, volleyball, golf and other ball sports.
